Hello, faithful blog readers. I've had a reply from Dave, the spinach!
Dearest Briain,
I am so glad you have responded. So many have not and I was concerned my children would never escape from this terrible bad place.
It is a shame that the world is full of so many untrustworthy people with shifty attitudes and that you have to be cautious in who you have the business dealings with but I do understand. So many humans are devious and crafty. But not you, you are kind and lovely. So lovely, in fact, that I feel sure you can afford only a small €5 to cover the postal costs for a tiny packet of a few of my precious seed children.
I beseech you to cover this cost that is insignificant to you but will mean everything to me and my children.
Your humble friend,
Dave, a spinach plant.
What do you think I should do, readers? It's only a fiver and I'm thinking I could set up a separate bank account with nothing else in it so this person can't rip me off.
Let me know in the comments, but I'm tempted. If nothing else, I might get some free salad leaves.
