Read Story From Beginning

I’ve always thought of myself as a fantasy writer, but I’ve had far more success in horror and weird fiction. With this piece, I’m definitely not beating the allegations. Based on a themed prompt, I went: GROWTH >> what’s something that definitely shouldn’t? >> whoops, look, a new type of eco-apocalypse (with heaps of socio-political commentary along the way!)

I feel fiction—speculative fiction especially—should give readers space to bring their own interpretations and experiences to the narrative. But for me, “Geosapiology” (working title: “The Stones Rise Up”, drafted in late November 2023) was absolutely born out of a need to process the horrifying news coming out of Gaza.
